More war

Well, the Genesis Knights got such a thrashing by the UK-SF (Security Force), that they undeclared war. Of their 31 number, we only ever saw 5 or 6 regularly. I wonder if the rest of them even knew what was going on.

However, 2 more very small corps now declared war on us, Underground Resistance, and Andskottin.

I kitted out my Cyclone with extra shield tanking and joined the others in camping Stetille, a system where we had cornered one of the Underground Resistance, but nothing happened before I had to go... but I got a nice photo of my cloaked Cyclone in front of a Stetille planet:

Vigil-ant

Yesterday was an interesting day. The UKC heard that Ginger Magician, a known pirate in these parts (20 million ISK bounty, he must be good) was camping Charmerout gate in Yvangier. Most of the Security Force were over in Oisio causing disruption with the GK. I was going to join them in a frig, as my 'big ship' skills aren't up to much, and I can offer more as a 'tackler' in a frig.

So, the best frig for EW that I can fly is a Vigil. Deor (a UKC director) kindly donated one to me and wouldn't take any payment for it, which was very good of him. I have kept in keeping with silly names and called it 'Ant'- as in Vigil-Ant. Ahem.

Once again, it failed to produce a smile at the Registration Bureau.

I spent some time fiddling about with what weapon configs to put on.. I am so used to the luxury of many mod slots on my Cyclone, it was hard to jam it all in, but I think I've got a reasonable set-up, including my cloaking device.

I wanted to fit some Energy Leeching devices, but I don't have the right skills for it, so I contacted a friend who isn't in the UKC and can thus travel without being targetted. He will drop off the skill book at a nearby station, I just need to pick it up. Shouldn't take long to get the basics.

Anyway, I took the Ant for a spin. I needed to test out the cloaking device, how quickly you can cloak after exiting warp, etc. I made my way out to where Ginger was camping (160km out from the gate so the sentry guns can't shoot him), then promptly warped out again. He didn't bother locking me (or wasn't paying attention), but if he had I'd have cloaked (hopefully) and got the hell out.

I sat cloaked on another gate in the system and watched the local channel. He was joined briefly by another pilot, Ginger Mistress, then they both left shortly after. He tried to goad me into talking on local, but I didn't get sucked in.

In the meantime, the UKC have been getting many spectacular kills against the GK, with the loss of only one of our ships. I'll post more details when I have them.

It's war!

The corp I belong to (the UKC) moved to Heydeiles about 2 months ago, and since then, a couple of corps have declared war on us, no doubt thinking we were a soft touch. We concentrate on mining quite a bit, but also have a very strong military arm. Anyway, both the previous times, the corps who declared war on us soon undeclared after they got a seriously bloody nose.

So, it didn't come as a huge surprise to find ourselves wardec'd again. This time by a 31 man strong corp called Genesis Knights. No-one really knows why they have declared war.

I got my little tush down to Heydeiles in my Probe, to start building ammo (as my other day job is ammo production) ASAP in the Factory. Once I started that, I realised I should've brought a bigger ship, as there was a lot of ammo that needed shifting to the Warehouse. I was busy shuttling back and forth when Nikek, our CEO, called us together for a gathering in a nearby system. He wanted us to bring our biggest ships.

Unfortunately, the Beezling IV, my Cyclone, was about 11 jumps away in Rens. I cursed inwardly, and realised I needed to shift my base of operations down to Heyd, bite the bullet, say goodbye to Alforen my level 3 agent, and come to Heyd permanently.

I raced back to Rens, fortunately it is a well travelled route, I had it Insta'd and my Probe is pretty quick.

Grabbed Beezling IV, and met with the others. The site of all our ships there was impressive indeed. The picture below is only a few of us, I couldn't get us all in!

So, we gathered about 20 or so of us, a motley collection of Battlecruisers, Battleships, Elite Frigs and so on. Some ships were newer than others, some had battle scars from earlier engagements, but we were a sight to strike fear into our enemy's hearts.

We knew that the enemy were in Oisio, their home system, so we departed. When we arrived there with no incident (who was going to take on a 22 strong fleet without prior preparation?), there wasn't much going on apart from a lone BS (I forget his name) taking on some pirates near the station. He looked like he had matters in hand so we left him to it.

Sure enough, before too long, a GK member called Betto undocked. I can only imagine his reaction at seeing us in a normally quiet system. We weren't officially at war yet so no-one could fire, but all 22 of us locked him in short time! None of them had anything clever to say on the local channel, which was a shame.

As soon as the guy finished his mission, Betto and another GK'er called Dave White (if I recall correctly) started stealing all his loot. Barefaced cheek. The guy, in local, said they do that all the time. So, the least we could do is get to all the loot before GK could, and then traded it back to him in the station. He was very grateful, and more importantly, it must've annoyed GK.

Suffice to say, we had made our point and withdrew.

As I write this, the war is now live, I took the opportunity before it was live earlier today by ferrying my stuff down to Heyd. So now I am there good and proper.

Battle photo

Just found this photo- from last week. Myself and 3 corp mates (Lord Tinker, Smog Monster and Kethrian) went to tackle a Pithi pirate hide out. Concord had posted a substantial reward for their takedown, so we thought we'd oblige. Smog was in a Battleship, LT and Keth were in BC's if I recall).

Pod killed

Just seen a pilot getting pod-killed out in Yulai.

I've read about it, never actually seen it happen. I know I haven't been piloting for long, but that sends a shiver down my spine.

It was 2 Battleships against a Battlecruiser. I don't remember ship types, my ship ID'ing is still not very good; or names. But seeing someone get podded then targetted and killed is uncomfortable viewing.

Anal Probe

Ah, I think I have this worked out now. If not, all I'll be recording is static.

Well, 'Blogging' is the latest craze with the pilots around here, so i thought 'what the heck', and here I am. It'll give me something else to do when making those long journeys, or mining.

Not sure where the term 'blog' comes from, some of the regulars at the Gate bar in BTT (sorry, that's the station at Rens 6 Moon 8) seem to think it's an old Earth term for keeping a diary. I don't see it myself, I reckon it's an amalgamation of the words 'bored' and 'log'.

Anyway. Been real busy the last few days, I completed my course in Electronics.. and I now understand the basics of Cloaking! It is going to be a real benefit to me, as I will no doubt be doing trade runs through low sec space in Ragazzo Grande (my Mammoth), and the ability to cloak will be handy. Not cheap though, those cloaking devices....

While I'm testing my BoredLOG skills, I will attempt to publish a picture of my latest ship, the 'Anal'. As it's a Probe, I thought the play on words was amusing...although the lady at the Brutor Office of Registrations didn't think so.

Hello?

Is this thing on?
